Welcome to Year 3!

Our adults in class are Miss Lees, Miss Sewell and Miss Taylor.

Here are some class details that we hope you find helpful:

Diaries

Children need to bring their diaries in daily. We use diaries to record progress in reading and to communicate further with families and staff check the diaries every day.

Reading books

Children bring home two books each week to read: one is a levelled reading book, and the other is a free-choice selection from the class library. The levelled book can be exchanged on Friday mornings, but there’s no requirement to swap it weekly if it’s still being read. We strongly encourage reading at home and take pride in our class’s enthusiasm for reading for pleasure!

Water bottles

Children bring in water bottles which are kept in school, these are sent home half termly.

Snacks

Children may bring in a small fruit snack for break.

PE

Our PE sessions are on Monday and Friday. The Monday session is delivered by Miss Lees and children should bring their P.E. kit into school, to get changed into.  The Friday session is delivered by the NUFC Foundation. Children come into school wearing their P.E kit for this session. This should be a school jumper, a white T-shirt and black shorts or jogging bottoms with trainers for outdoors. All uniforms should be labelled, including coats, shoes and PE kits.

Homework

Spellings will be uploaded weekly to Spelling Shed and also added to the children’s diaries. Regular practice is encouraged. We greatly appreciate your support in helping your child with their spellings and exploring VIPERs in their reading. Times Table Rockstars is also available to support your child in practising their multiplication tables. If you need a reminder of the passwords for either platform, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
