Year 2 have had a fantastic time at Whitley Bay visiting St Mary’s Lighthouse today! We started the day learning all about the lighthouse in the past through to the present day, some children even had the opportunity to dress up as lighthouse workers and hear about their important jobs. We then walked up 137 winding steps to the very top of the lighthouse and spotted some seals relaxing on the rocks 🦭 . After enjoying our packed lunches, we headed out onto the rocks to search for wildlife in the rock pools.
