Our Vision

We are proud to be an inclusive Church of England School, a community for all where we give everyone the opportunity to flourish and thrive. We aim to offer an inspiring curriculum of the highest possible standard to help all children achieve their full potential. Our beautiful environment and position within our local community provide a unique and broad range of experiences.

Intent

Our curriculum is designed to be accessible to all and allow every child to reach their full potential, with Christian Values at it’s core. Our school grounds are extensive and are perfect for supporting the teaching of the curriculum in an inspiring way. Our curriculum is planned to challenge, engage and inspire pupils to learn, through sequenced teaching based on the National Curriculum. Children will be supported in dealing with challenges, learning from their mistakes and celebrating their success. As part of TCLT, our pupils are prepared for the next stages of their education and to play a positive role in their community.

Implementation

Our curriculum is firmly rooted in the National Curriculum but is designed and adapted to ensure deep, meaningful learning. We have worked in partnership with local schools at all stages to develop a coherent long term plan that teaches the core areas but takes into account the individuality of school. Lessons are engaging and follow a creative curriculum which is designed to interest, inform and inspire our children.
Pupils skills and knowledge are taken into account when planning lessons, prior knowledge will determine the delivery of the lesson but pupil preference and needs will be carefully considered. We assess three times a year and use a range of assessment materials. All pupils are monitored on their progress and any pupil who is not making the progress they are capable of will receive a bespoke support programme. Our curriculum is accessible for all abilities and backgrounds, where obstacles arise we will find ways to adapt to overcome them.
Impact

Pupils will leave our school  with a secure understanding of the academic content; with the understanding of how to be socially, morally, spiritually and culturally responsible and aware; how to make positive contributions to the local area and how to endeavour to be the best that they can be. We aim for all of our children to leave respectful, skilful, ambitious and with a thirst for life and all it has to offer.
