Music at Ovingham CE First School
Music is an important part of our curriculum at Ovingham CE First School and supports our ambition to deliver a creative curriculum that supports Character Education. We use Charanga for our whole school music curriculum and also offer our pupils a range of whole class and individual lessons. Each year group has a focus instrument so that all children can learn through experience.Â
Alongside this we currently deliver individual lessons in keyboard and guitar.
Spirituality in Music
Spirituality is developed through music as our children engage in creative expression and emotional connection. Through musical exploration, children have the opportunity to tap into their inner-selves, expressing feelings, aspirations and a sense of wonder. Whether through singing, playing instruments, or listening to diverse musical genres, our children develop a unique avenue for self-discovery and emotional intelligence. Therefore, music education at Ovingham C of E First School nurtures creativity, emotional well-being and a profound understanding of human experience.
