PSHE Curriculum

PSHE Curriculum Intent

Our PSHE Curriculum is designed using the PSHE Association and incorporates the following core themes: Relationships, Physical and Mental Wellbeing and Living in the Wider World.

Our PSHE curriculum is a planned, developmental programme of learning which provides our children with the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to manage their lives now and in the future. We want our children to aspire to achieve, and believe that it is essential that they understand the world they live in.

Broadening our children’s horizons and giving them the belief that they are capable of achieving great things is what drives our curriculum. Our PSHE curriculum gives learners the knowledge and understanding they need to make informed choices and to be a
positive influence in the communities that they belong to.

Spirituality in PSHE:

Spirituality is promoted through Personal, Social, Health, and Economic (PSHE) studies by fostering self-awareness, empathy, ethical understanding, and a sense of purpose among children. Personal development activities encourage self-reflection and the exploration of values and beliefs, deepening their spiritual self-awareness. Learning emphasises community, relationships, and cultural awareness, helping children appreciate connection and diversity, which are fundamental aspects of spirituality. PSHE creates a supportive environment for children to explore and develop their spirituality, cultivating a balanced and meaningful approach to life.
